An update from the Holiday Homes Islay Team regarding Covid-19.

Following the outbreak of Covid-19, Holiday Homes Islay are saddened to announce that Islay, as an island, is closed to visitors until further notice. Therefor all holiday let bookings have been cancelled and all availability has been blocked out until such time it is safe for everyone to continue to enjoy Islay.
In order to protect the island, ferry providers, CalMac, and airline, Loganair, are running a skeleton service for islanders and essential workers only. Both companies have advised us that this will continue until further notice.
During the last couple of hectic weeks, a community action group has been set up to ensure those who are self-isolating have the supplies they need. A ‘Go-Fund-Me’ page was quickly setup during the early days of the outbreak with over £7,500 being donated by people all around the world. Ardbeg have also donated £50,000 toward this cause. This money is being used to cover volunteers’ expenses, buy personal protective equipment and deliver food to our most vulnerable. Spirited soaps and Bruichladdich Distillery are producing hand sanitiser which has been given out to the hospital, the doctors and all key workers for free.
Holiday Home Owners, Did you know the UK government is providing a £10,000 grant to help cover the revenue you lost due to Covid-19? More information can be found on the Argyll and Bute council website. https://www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/coronavirus-information-businesses
The team at Holiday Homes Islay are proud to be part of this amazing community response and will continue to help out as and where we can. Stay safe out there.
