Latest update regarding Covid-19 on Isle of Islay.

We are please to announce that Islay is now open to visitors. After months of being isolated, Islay has reopened to the public but is strictly following the guidelines set out by the Scottish government.

Although the island is open to visitors, we must be very aware of the outstanding risk that this virus brings. Islay as a small remote island does not have the facilities or equipment to deal with a covid-19 outbreak. Therefore, we ask all visitors to the island to follow the very latest guidelines provided by the Scottish government. Please note that you must wear a face covering on public transport, in all shops, restaurants & takeaways and stay 2 meters apart from anyone not in your household.

Holiday home owners and managers are working very hard to ensure their properties are clean and sanitised as per the guidelines. However, some holiday homes have decided not to open until further notice.

Loganair and CalMac have expanded their services to cope with the additional demand. Please see their websites to book and for further information. You can find links to their websites in our ‘Travel’ section.

We would also like to thank all the key workers and volunteers who kept the island running and safe during the last couple of months, without them things would have been a lot harder.
